Drea’s Wine Co.

Drea’s Small Batch Wines are crafted in Niagara-on-the-Lake by Andrea Kaiser, daughter of world-renowned winemaker Karl J. Kaiser, who co-founded Inniskillin Wines. The wines in her collection are an expression of his legacy and are dedicated to her father, who affectionately called her ‘Drea.’ As a visionary pioneer, his contributions to modern Canadian winemaking cannot be understated. Andrea closely follows her father’s winemaking philosophies, focusing on natural fruit flavors and aromas, creating bone-dry wines that are well-balanced with bright acidity.

As a winemaker in her own right, Andrea has taken the wine world by storm, as her wines have received international critical acclaim since their release. Her Sauvignon Blanc was marked distinguished by renowned wine writer Jancis Robinson, her Rosato was named one of the ‘top 31 Canadian Rosés to try’ with a score of 90 by Decanter Magazine, and her Dornfelder was listed in one of Canada’s first Michelin-starred restaurants. Her wines are regularly recognized at international wine competitions like International Wine Challenge and Texsom, and are served around the world, including the Canadian embassies in New York City, Washington D.C., and London, England. Her wines are also served in distinguished restaurants such as Frilu, Beckta, The National Club, Treadwell, AG Inspired Cuisine, Casa Mia, Tide and Vine Oyster House, and 360 at the iconic CN Tower.

The collection is crafted at Reif Estate Winery in Niagara-on-the-Lake, where they are available for sale and are also available for delivery across Canada by ordering online.

WINEMAKER PROFILE

Drea’s career in food and wine was cemented when her well-laid plans to go to law school were interrupted by her father’s spontaneous decision to buy a local restaurant. After ten years as a restauranteur, the world of wine however did call her back when she joined a neighbouring family winery. Along the way, her appetite for learning was satiated by travel abroad and wine education including sommelier training and attending University of California, Davis and Stanford University for wine studies. She is always delighted to share her passion for the local culinary culture by teaching and writing articles about what else, but food and wine.

Her journey continues with the launch of Drea’s Wine Co. which fulfilled her aspiration to carry on her father’s winemaking legacy in some small way. It is also of great significance to her as it was made possible by family, friends and colleagues. A very special thank you to her brother Maximilian, a graphic designer, who designed her labels and made her creative vision a reality. She is also most thankful to winemakers Roberto DiDomenico and Fernando Morales who help craft her wines at Reif Estate Winery in the style she loves best, and to Klaus W. Reif who made it possible for her dream to become a reality.
