WINEMAKER PROFILE
Mauro Salvador is our principal winemaker. With his extensive knowledge in viticulture and winemaking, he has shared his talent with wineries throughout the Niagara region, making wine for well over a decade.
Prior to that, he was a chief winemaker and research assistant in Italy. Mauro’s experience and skill in vineyard management have helped him to understand the Continental Cool Climate Region, and the challenges it presents in winemaking. It’s this passion for our locally grown varietals, married with years of honing his techniques, that have gifted him an innate ability to create exceptional wines for Villa Romana.
