WINEMAKING
This Gamay was harvested from neighbouring property down the road. Picked in early October with the hopes of creating a light bodied fruit forward gamay. These Grapes were destemmed and crushed into tank for fermentation, the wine was then left to macerate for a total of 25 days then gently pressed and transferred to 15% new French oak and the remaining to neutral French oak barriques. Malo Lactic fermentation occurred during the early months of the barrel aging process. The wine was then filtered before bottling.
TASTING NOTES
This Gamay Noir is a bright ruby with a rose petal hue. The aromatics are moderately intense on this youthful wine. Aromas of fresh raspberries, Swedish berry notes and a gentle oak spice to entice you into the glass. On the palate these aromatics are mirrored, with the fresh berry notes and gentle oak nuances and spice. A light bodied wine which offers finesse and softness on the pallet with soft tannins that are just integrating themselves to balance out this easy drinking wine. The fresh berries and oak carry through a medium length lingering finish
