This well-rounded medium-bodied wine is a true snapshot of the all-around potential of the Niagara Peninsula. A slight usage of oak helps the expression and complexity while the 14% alcohol brings more weight and body. On the nose, aromas of black cherry, red currant, plum, violet and dark cocoa are seductive and generous and give you a good idea of what is coming up next on the palate. The flavours are well defined on the front-palate leading with black cherry, cassis and plum before a hint of fresh herbs appears on the mid-palate. The back-end brings dark chocolate, licorice and more of the black cherries, with a spark of light spices at the very end. Enjoyable and well-priced.
