WINEMAKER PROFILE
Born and raised in Bordeaux, Renan’s passion for winemaking was sparked by his grandmother, a wine enthusiast who taught him to appreciate the art of fine wine. He pursued a degree in agricultural engineering and horticulture, ultimately discovering that winemaking was the perfect blend of his love for viticulture and wine education.
However, with limited opportunities for emerging winemakers in France during a period of economic uncertainty, Renan became part of a new generation of traveling winemakers. His journey took him across the globe, refining his craft through back-to-back vintages in California, France, and New Zealand. He eventually settled in Central Otago, a premier new world wine region, where he spent six years mastering his skills.
Renan brought his expertise to Redtail Vineyards to oversee the production of our PEC Estate Wines. His first vintage with Redtail in 2023 received critical acclaim, earning awards and recognition for its outstanding quality.
