Raised on their 50-acre family estate vineyard after immigrating from southwest Germany in 1998, Greg and Yannick Wertsch are farmers turned vintners. The focus on the wine they make is the same as the fruit they grow; quality comes first. Visit them and taste their wines in the heart of Niagara wine country at Between the Lines Winery.

WINEMAKER PROFILE
A home winemaker since high school, Yannick Wertsch has the lead role as Winemaker at Between The Lines Winery. After studying winemaking and viticulture for two years at Niagara College, Yannick left for Germany to study two more years at Weinbauschule Institute in Weinsberg. A combination of real-world grape growing experience, as well as, a solid wine education has given Yannick success in producing premium quality wines from Niagara. Between The Lines wines gathered awards in Ontario and New York State, including a Gold Medal for the 2013 Cabernet Franc Icewine. In 2018, Outset achieved Best in Class designation at the Finger Lakes Int’l Wine Competition and The Gold Medal for our 2017 Riesling at the Ontario Wine Awards.
