Nomad was first opened by Pinetree Catering back in December 2018 inside the departure lounge of Thunder Bay Airport with the goal of delivering the taste and flavours of Northwestern Ontario to the rest of the world. In December 2020, we expanded and opened “Nomad Bakeshop & Sandwich Bar” at 307 Bay Street, right in the heart of the Bay & Algoma Neighbourhood. After enjoying nearly 3.5 years there, we had to say goodbye to our bakeshop & sandwich bar, closing our doors in March 2024. For the spring & summer of 2024, we were located inside Goods & Co. Market until the end of July. In true nomadic fashion, our journey has shifted us and we are now located at the Thunder Bay Country Market every Wednesday & Saturday.
We acknowledge that our wineries and vineyards are on the traditional territories of the Anishinabewaki, the Attiwonderonk, the Haudenosaunee, the Mississauga and Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation, the Ojibwe, the Odawa, and the Potawatomi People. As guests of this land, we thank Indigenous Peoples for caring and protecting the lands and waters on which we work and live. In the spirit of peace, friendship and respect to all Indigenous Peoples who have and continue to live and work on these lands, we will continue to honour this place we call home.
