Over the past 10 years since we opened Between The Lines, our process has been perfected through experimenting with the various techniques and exploring inventive winemaking methods led by our winemakers Greg and Yannick Wertsch. The result is a distinguished portfolio of wines that possess a precise flavour and appeal to new wine drinkers and the most seasoned palates. It all happens here in the Big Red Barn on our stunning property in NOTL. Our modern-rustic space houses our cellar and acts as both a tasting room and our clubhouse. WINEMAKER PROFILE
A home winemaker since high school, Yannick Wertsch has the lead role as Winemaker at Between The Lines Winery. After studying winemaking and viticulture for two years at Niagara College, Yannick left for Germany to study two more years at Weinbauschule Institute in Weinsberg. A combination of real-world grape growing experience, as well as, a solid wine education has given Yannick success in producing premium quality wines from Niagara. Between The Lines wines gathered awards in Ontario and New York State, including a Gold Medal for the 2013 Cabernet Franc Icewine. In 2018, Outset achieved Best in Class designation at the Finger Lakes Int’l Wine Competition and The Gold Medal for our 2017 Riesling at the Ontario Wine Awards.
