Set in September 1934. Saunders, the general manager of the Cleveland Grand Opera Company, is primed to welcome world-famous singer Tito Merelli, known as Il Stupendo, the greatest tenor of his generation, to appear for one night only as the star of the opera. It’s the biggest event in the Cleveland Opera’s history. A sellout crowd and the members of the Cleveland Opera Guild will be at the opera house that evening to see the great Merelli. Tito arrives late, and a hilarious series of mishaps follows that will leave audiences teary-eyed with laughter! Will the show go on? Will the shrimp mayonnaise go off? Will Maggie get her “fling”? Who is the REAL Tito?
