The 2020 Unoaked Chardonnay is a stunning example of the exceptional caliber of our Two Sisters Chardonnay program. This wine is a combination of two vineyards sources, including about 2/3rds from the Estate Vineyard and 1/3rd from the Lenko Vineyard in Beamsville. The wine has a noticeable viscosity in the glass, certainly unexpected for Unoaked Chardonnay. The vintage was hot and sunny, so the grapes had exceptional concentration and flavour development. The nose is quite pronounced,  with an enticing combination of tree fruits, sweet herbs and minerality. It follows through with a rich and textured weight on the palate, yet maintains taut and balancing acidity. Pear, green apple and lemon notes combine with sweet herbs, citrus zest, and the unmistakable Beamsville Bench minerality all combine for an exceptional tasting experience. It all leads to a lovely finish, as the complexities of this wine continue to surface.
