Rosehall Run
Cabernet Sauvignon (65%); Merlot (35%)
SILVER - 2021 WineAlign National Wine Awards of Canada
Harvested entirely from the Nedelko Vineyard on the Twenty Mile Bench, this vintage benefitted from some extra hangtime on the vines. The fruit was harvested well into November, narrowly avoiding the first snowstorm of the season. The small yield resulted in a small production lot that showcases what Niagara vines can do with Bordeaux blends. The blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot spent 17 months aging in seasoned French and American barrels, with approximately 20% of the lot aging in new French oak for added structure and depth.
A bold nose with pronounced jammy black fruits with lifted notes of leather and sandalwood. Elegant and easy to drink, an acidic cut is deftly balanced with warm and welcoming stewed fruit and allspice characteristics on the palate. A lingering finish offering faint notes of toasted nuts and vanilla points to a wine ideal for pairing with holiday dining. A powerful bottle with aging potential of well over a decade.
