Rockway Vineyards
Rockway Vineyards is one of the only wineries in Canada to also feature an 18-hole championship public golf course. Our vineyards are located on premium grape growing land in the Twenty Mile Bench sub-appellation, which allows us to produce quality small batch VQA wines. Limestone-rich soils and ideal growing conditions have helped us produce world class wines. Rockway wines have received many outstanding awards and rave reviews from wine writers. We hope that you will stop by the wine boutique and sample our signature wine, Rockway 9 Spritz and our limited edition Small Lot wines. Rockway is also proud to be a part of Rockway Gives Back, with this year’s featured wine being our Pink Ribbon Rosé. 10% of sales from every bottle sold of the Pink Ribbon Rosé goes directly towards breast cancer research and patient support programs.

WINEMAKER PROFILE
Simone has travelled around the world, honing her skills in the cellar as a Winemaker, and becoming well versed with vineyards and terroirs. Raised on a fruit farm in Ontario, Simone learned the value of hard work on the job and at home, where she is currently an avid gardener and forager.
After graduating from the Winemaking and Viticulture program at Niagara College in 2011, Simone worked for both Tawse and Le Clos Jordanne in Niagara before travelling abroad. She spent many vintages chasing harvests around the world at premium international wineries such as Leeuwin Estate and Grosset in Australia, Amisfield in New Zealand, Ponzi in Oregon and Domaine Fernard et Laurent Pillot in Burgundy. Simone spent 3.5 years in the Okanagan working for Meyer Family Vineyards before taking on the role of Winemaker for their sister winery Mayhem wines. Upon returning home Simone has spent the last two years reacquainting herself with cool climate viticulture by working for Adamo Estate Winery up north in the Hockley Valley. Simone brings a wealth of experience to the Rockway team, ranging from vineyard work to winemaking.
On Simone’s free time she is exploring hiking trails, tending to her heritage chickens and ducks on the family farm, boating on Georgian Bay, and snowboarding in the Blue Mountains area.
