By Chadsey’s Cairns Winery and Vineyard

Located on a storied and glorious 209-year-old farm overlooking the lake, the winery has become a must-visit County touchstone with great views and ambience. Its unique strand of ancient beach soils and the sure hands of winemaker Vida Zalnieriunas have produced classically styled Pinot Noirs and Chardonnays along with rare finds such as Muscat, Chenin Blanc and sparkling reds.

Vida Zalnieriunas, made her first By Chadsey’s Cairns wine, Riesling 2001, under the tutelage of Martin Gemmrich. Eighteen vintages later she is the doyenne of the County’s many female winemakers, known for the consistent high quality of wines from the eight varieties grown entirely on the Chadsey farm. With retirement in the offing, the 2019 vintage will be her swansong.
